Advanced Battery Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: ABAT), founded in September 2002, develops, manufactures and distributes rechargeable Polymer Lithium-Ion (PLI) batteries. The Company's products include rechargeable PLI batteries for electric automobiles, motorcycles, mine-use lamps, notebook computers, walkie-talkies and other electronic devices. First Quarter Financial Highlights

• Revenue for the first quarter was $10.7 million, an increase of 6.5% from $10.0 million for the same period in 2008.
• Gross profit was $5.0 million, essentially flat to the first quarter of 2008
• Net income in the first quarter of 2009 decreased 6.4% to $3.6 million, or $0.07 per diluted share, from $3.8 million, or $0.08 per diluted share, in the first quarter of 2008.
