(the "Company" or "New Oriental") (NYSE: EDU - News), the largest provider of private educational services in China, today announced that it will hold its annual general meeting of shareholders at the offices of Latham & Watkins, 41/F, One Exchange Square, Central Hong Kong on May 11, 2009 at 10 AM local time.

Holders of record of the Company's common shares at the close of business on March 31, 2009 are entitled to vote at the annual general meeting and any adjournment or postponement thereof. Registered holders of the American depositary shares ("ADSs") who wish to exercise their voting rights for the underlying common shares must act through the depositary of the Company's ADSs, Deutsche Bank Trust Company Americas.

The Company has filed its annual report on Form 20-F (the "Annual Report"), which includes the Company's audited financial statements for the fiscal year ended May 31, 2008, with the U.S. Securities and Exchange Commission (the "SEC").
